THRASCHER objects are crafted using honest, enduring materials. Following these material-specific guidelines will preserve the texture, finish, and structural poise of your pieces for decades.
Ceramics & Stoneware
- Cleaning: Clean with a soft sponge, warm water, and mild neutral dishwashing soap. Avoid abrasive scouring pads that can scratch matte glazes.
- Porous / Unglazed Finishes: For unglazed terracotta or sculptural raw stoneware, dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak in water.
Travertine, Marble & Honed Stone
- Nature of Stone: Natural stone features organic veining, voids, and textural variation unique to every cut.
- Care: Wipe surfaces promptly using a damp soft cloth and dry immediately. Never use acidic cleaners, vinegar, lemon juice, or abrasive chemical sprays, as acids etch natural stone surfaces permanently.
- Protection: Use coasters or protective felt pads beneath objects placed on porous stone trays.
Solid Metals & Architectural Hardware
- Brushed & Solid Brass: Our unlacquered brass items will develop a rich living patina over time. To maintain the original lustre, apply a specialized brass polish with a microfibre cloth. For everyday upkeep, wipe with a dry cloth.
- Stainless Steel & Chrome: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then polish dry immediately to prevent water spots and mineral buildup.
Woven Fabrics, Wool & Throws
- Care: For wool blankets and textured throws, dry cleaning or gentle hand-washing in cold water with wool detergent is recommended. Do not tumble dry.
- Cushions: Plump feather-filled cushions regularly to retain structural form. Spot clean fabric covers using a clean damp cloth with neutral upholstery cleaner.
Lighting Fixtures & Electrical Safety
- Safety First: Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker or unplug the lamp before cleaning or replacing bulbs. Allow bulbs to cool completely.
- Maintenance: Clean lamp shades and fixtures with a dry dusting cloth. Never spray liquid cleaners directly onto electrical fittings, sockets, or wiring. Compatible with US 120V mains.
